General Class Amateur Radio Operator

I am a General Class amateur radio operator and received my license in March 2026. I enjoy learning about radio communications, portable operations, antennas, and digital modes.

My current equipment includes a Xiegu G90 HF radio, a BTECH mobile radio, and several handheld transceivers (HTs) that I regularly use with a Slim Jim antenna setup.

For HF operation, I currently have two antennas for portable operation outdoors in parks and other location. My first antenna I used an End Fed Half Wave (EFHW) antenna mounted on a painter’s pole attached to a tripod. The second, and my main antenna, is a Radioddity hf-010.

I enjoy traditional voice contacts but have recently become very interested in FT8 and slowly learning CW. I also enjoy experimenting with portable setups and improving antenna performance.

One of my favorite projects so far has been building a fox hunt transmitter from scratch for amateur radio direction finding and transmitter hunting.

One of my long-term goals is to make contacts in all 50 U.S. states.

I will continue updating this page with more details, photos, equipment information, portable setups, and radio projects so
